Editorial notes

  1. 01

A powdery oriental built around the Mousse de Saxe accord, a geosmin-leather-anise synthetic family that became Caron's house signature and nobody else's.

  2. 02

Ernest Daltroff composed it as a Christmas Eve gift for his muse and life partner Félicie Wanpouille, who designed the flacon and stayed with the maison for half a century.

  3. 03

Black-glass flacon with a gold tassel, presented in an art-deco lacquered box. The design is unchanged since launch, credited to Wanpouille herself.

  4. 04

Composed by Ernest Daltroff in 1922 around ylang, jasmine and rose over a Mousse de Saxe base, widely cited as the maison's most personal composition.
